Quality of life after transcatheter tricuspid valve repair: results from the Tri.FR trial

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
This study is one of the first randomised trials to demonstrate that transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (T‐TEER) yields substantial and sustained improvements in quality of life across multiple domains, beyond clinical and echocardiographic outcomes.

Current and novel biomarkers in cardiogenic shock

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
A summary of current and novel biomarkers and their potential stages of release in cardiogenic shock. The diagram illustrates the proposed release of the biomarkers during the different stages of cardiogenic shock: progression from cardiac dysfunction/stress, through to inflammation and end‐organ dysfunction.

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance‐estimated pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, congestion markers, and effect of empagliflozin in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and dysglycaemia (SUGAR‐DM‐HF)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims A cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) approach to non‐invasively estimate left ventricular (LV) filling pressure was recently developed and shown to correlate with invasively measured pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP). We examined the association between CMR‐estimated PCWP (CMR‐PCWP) and other imaging and biomarker measures of

Circulating growth differentiation factor‐15 levels are associated with early echocardiographic signs of diastolic function impairment in the STANISLAS cohort: A 20‐year follow‐up study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Summary of the study design and key findings. The (+) and (−) signs mean that the variable has a positive or a negative association with growth differentiation factor‐15 (GDF‐15) levels in the fully adjusted model (age, gender, current smoker, body mass index, total cholesterol, systolic blood pressure and N‐terminal pro‐B‐type natriuretic peptide ...

Cardioprotective effects of semaglutide on isolated human ventricular myocardium

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Semaglutide reduces late sodium current (INa) and diastolic calcium (Ca) sparks in human cardiomyocytes from aortic stenosis (AS) and end‐stage heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients, thereby increasing Ca transients. Improved Ca storage may underly the enhanced contractility of human cardiomyocytes upon semaglutide.

Intravenous Lobular Capillary Hemangioma in the Renal Vein Mimicking Renal Cancer

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Lobular capillary hemangioma is a benign tumor that commonly occurs in the skin and mucous membranes. A lobular capillary hemangioma that occurs within blood vessels is called intravenous lobular capillary hemangioma. In this report, we report the fifth case of intravenous lobular capillary hemangioma originating from a renal ...
