A reassessment of fission-track annealing behavior in apatite
Nuclear Tracks and Radiation Measurements (1982), 1985Abstract A reassessment of the time scales of heating responsible for fission-track annealing of apatites from deep drill cores suggests that these estimates may be as much as an order of magnitude too high. As these earlier results form the basis for interpreting the thermal significance of apatite fission-track ages from geological settings, a ...

Thermal history and length distribution of Fission Tracks (FT) in apatite
Nuclear Tracks, 1981ABSTRACT FT-annealing in apatite is described by numerical solutions of an empirically based differential equation with an annealing coefficient α(λ, T) as function of temperature T and relative FT-length λ, solutions are presented for the time dependence of λ(t), FT-density and λ-distribution.

Fission Tracks on (10\bar10) Cleavages of Natural Apatite Crystals
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1967(10\bar10) cleavage faces of apatite were etched in citric acid and pits with and without trails were observed. The formation of the trails was studied by successively etching the same regions. Matched cleavage faces were simultaneously etched and the etch patterns were critically compared.
