Identifying substitute host tree species for epiphytes: The relative importance of tree size and species, bark and site characteristics

Bark characteristics explain little of the variation in epiphytic communities and are not a reliable method to assess the suitability of substitute phorophytes to conserve epiphytic communities facing decline due to tree extirpation. Tree characteristics, other than bark explained more of the variation.
