ABSTRACT In this study, we examine the relationship between Brune stress drop and fault slip where the stress drop is estimated using the Empirical Green's Function (EGF) method and slip distribution is derived from seismic and geodetic data inversion.

Geothermics of the Apenninic subduction
The subduction of the Adriatic microplate is analysed from a geothermal point of view. In particular four main geodynamic units are distinguished: foreland, foredeep and slab, accretionary prism, and back-arc basin. Each of them is examined from a geothermal point of view and the related open question are discussed.

Climate Change Alters Elevational Distribution Patterns of Cormus domestica Habitat
This study utilizes species distribution models to project the habitat shifts of Cormus domestica in Italy, predicting a substantial range reduction of 32%–68% by 2100 driven primarily by rising annual mean temperatures. The results indicate a significant shift of suitable habitats toward higher elevations, creating a scenario where the necessary ...

Geomorphological characterization of the DsGSD enables us to identify the sources of sediment that could be mobilized as debris flows. In the area, pseudo‐badlands morphotype has been defined and mapped, representing the main sources of risk beside abandoned quarry deposits.

Breaking a 128-year silence: new records of Cyphella digitalis (Alb. & Schwein.) Fr. in Italy
Cyphella digitalis develops small, distinctly campanulate basidiomata exclusively on Abies alba. While its presence has been well documented north of the Alps, only a singular record has been reported from Italy almost 129 years ago with no further ...

The role of fault network geometry on the complexity of seismic cycles in the Apennines [PDF]
Estimating the recurrence intervals and magnitudes of earthquakes for a given fault is essential for seismic hazard assessment but often challenging due to the long recurrence times of large earthquakes. Fault network geometry (i.e.

ABSTRACT Animals with seasonal reproductive cycles, as the Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), have developed mechanisms to synchronize reproduction with the environmental cycle in order to optimize reproductive success through melatonin. Angiogenesis and oxidative stress are key processes in spermatogenesis, contributing to testicular remodeling and ...

The study investigates the seasonal transport of black carbon (BC) from Almaty, Kazakhstan, to adjacent mountain areas. The radiative effects associated with BC are evaluated at the surface, within the atmosphere, and at the top of the atmosphere. ABSTRACT Large cities with poor air quality can affect surrounding areas through pollutant transport and ...
