Imaging signal-to-noise ratio of synthetic aperture ladar
SPIE Proceedings, 2015On the basis of the Poisson photocurrent statistics in the photon-limited heterodyne detection, in this paper, the signal-to-noise ratios in the receiver in the time domain and on the focused 1-D image and 2-D image in the space domain are derived for both the down-looking and side-looking synthetic aperture imaging ladars using PIN or APD photodiodes.

Ambiguity validation with combined ratio test and ellipsoidal integer aperture estimator
Journal of Geodesy, 2010To ensure reliable ambiguity resolution, ambiguity validation is an indispensable step. It has been a challenge for many years and is far from being resolved. Over the past years, various ambiguity validation methods have been proposed, such as F-ratio test, R-ratio test, difference test, projector test, ellipsoidal integer aperture (EIA) estimator and

29.1: Full Color Active Matrix OLED Displays with High Aperture Ratio
SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 2004Abstract For the integration of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) on an active matrix backplane, an efficient top‐emitting OLED is essential since the TFT‐circuitry covers a large space of the pixel aperture. Moreover, for the integration on n‐channel transistors used in amorphous silicon technology an inverted (anode on top) OLED

The operating frequency of future communication systems will cover unlicensed millimeter-wave bands as well as existing microwave bands. Large frequency ratio antennas that can be applied to both frequency bands simultaneously and maintain the high isolation between the two channels are difficult to design. Electrode structure for high transmittance and aperture ratio in TFT-LCD
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2007Abstract In this paper, we propose a new cell structure having a high aperture ratio and transmittance with chevron-shaped electrode. As an exemplary cell, we selected patterned vertical alignment (PVA) mode. Optical transmittance and aperture ratio were calculated by 3D-FEM numerical solver and extended Jones method solver.

A new performance index for atmospheric lidar, namely the power–aperture–mixing ratio–scattering cross-section (PAMS) product, is proposed. Unlike the index widely used at present, namely the power–aperture (PA) product, the new index provides an accurate comparison between different types of lidar for measuring the same atmospheric parameters. Using a

Improve product aperture ratio by controlling magnitude of reverse tilt domain
SPIE Proceedings, 2000In thin-film-transistor LCD, aperture ratio is an important parameter of transmittance. In this paper, we describe the relation between aperture ratio and reverse tilt domain. We conclude that we can control the magnitude of reverse tilt domain by changing rubbing density, pile impression, cell gap and altitude of TFT.

A newly designed curved beam microshutter display device with high aperture ratio
2013 Transducers & Eurosensors XXVII: The 17th International Conference on Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems (TRANSDUCERS & EUROSENSORS XXVII), 2013This paper reports a curved beam microshutter display device with a novel part-division design to achieve high aperture ratio. The part-division design which consists of two parts doing respective functions is a simple method to enhance performance of the curved beam microshutter.

Thermal emission from periodic array of microcavities with a different aperture ratio
Summaries of Papers Presented at the Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, 2003Summary form only given. Recent studies of thermal emission control have revealed many interesting phenomena. The influence of microstructures upon thermal emission, however, has not well been understood. In this paper, we report experimental results of thermal emission from a tantalum surface having a periodic array of microcavities.
