A food‐grade cooling composite made from starch and recycled eggshell powder offers a scalable, ultra‐low‐cost solution for passive daytime radiative cooling. Easily prepared using basic kitchen tools, this material empowers communities, even in areas with limited infrastructure, to stay cooler during worsening summer heat waves.

Innocuous cardiac gunshot that proved fatal: A bitter lesson learned
The management of hemodynamically normal patients with retained intra-pericardial foreign body remains a matter of conjecture. The available literature supports non-operative management of such innocuous foreign bodies.

Magnetization dependent current rectification in (Ga,Mn)As magnetic tunnel junctions
We have found that the current rectification effect in triple layer (double barrier) (Ga,Mn)As magnetic tunnel junctions strongly depends on the magnetization alignment.

We theoretically studied the thermally assisted spin torque switching of a synthetic free layer and showed that the switching time is minimized if the condition H_J=|H_s|/(2 alpha) is satisfied, where H_J, H_s and alpha are the coupling field of two ...

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Humans are apex predators [PDF]
In their recent paper, Bonhommeau et al. (1) calculate human trophic levels (HTL) as fractional trophic levels (FTL), which is the mean trophic level of all species in a consumer’s diet weighted according to their proportions in the diet. Producer species are assigned FTL 1, and consumer values range from 2 (primary consumers) to 5 or greater.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.
