Abstract A population of Aphidius colemani Viereck imported from La Reunion successfully parasitized Aphis gossypii Glover, Myzus persicae Sulzer, Rhopalosiphum padi L., and Toxoptera aurantii Boyer de Fonscolombe in the laboratory. The parasitoid stung, but did not complete development in five other common aphid species.

Aqui reportamos a A.

Abstract Aphidius colemani (Braconidae: Aphidiinae) is an endoparasitoid and one of the most commercially used parasitoids for the control of various pest aphids. However, species identification of A. colemani is difficult because of the high degree of morphological similarity with closely associated species, such as A. transcaspicus and A. platensis.

AbstractWe have identified the following three taxa related to theAphidius colemanispecies group, which are important biological control agents:Aphidius colemani, Aphidius transcaspicusandAphidius platensis. Using partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) gene and geometric morphometric analysis of the forewing shape ...

Compact plants reduce biological control of Myzus persicae by Aphidius colemani
Biological Control, 2013Common horticultural practices, such as the use of plant growth regulators, may negatively influence the outcome of biological control programs. Plant growth regulators are applied to many ornamental and agricultural crops and can result in compact plants that have more branches and are bushier than untreated plants.

Host instar and host plant effects on Aphidius colemani
Journal of Applied Entomology, 2007Abstract: The effect of Myzus persicae age (I–IV instar nymphs) on parasitism by Aphidus colemani was investigated in choice experiments with either aubergine (Solanum melongena L.) or pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) as the aphid host plant species. Aphidius colemani could develop successfully to the mummy stage in all ages of aphid tested, on both pepper

AbstractBACKGROUND: The effects of an insecticidal soap on the survival, fitness and behaviour of an aphid parasitoid wasp, Aphidius colemani (Viereck), were studied in the laboratory. The LC50 (soap concentration causing 50% mortality 24 h after treatment) was determined.
