Susceptibility of Aphis craccivora (Hemiptera: Aphididae) to three entomopathogenic Fusarium species

Microbial Pathogenesis
The black aphid (Aphis craccivora) is an insect pest that can cause significant losses to different agricultural crops. Entomopathogenic fungi can be good options for controlling this insect. Fusarium species have shown promising results in the biological control of several agricultural pests, mainly of the order Hemiptera.

Genetic differentiating Aphis fabae and Aphis craccivora (Hemiptera: Sternorranycha: Aphididae) populations in Egypt using mitochondrial COI

Biologia, 2016
Aphis craccivora and Aphis fabae were found to infest broad bean in Egypt. Aphis craccivora was found to be more dominant than A. fabae; A. craccivora was collected from nine locations that represented different agroecosystems in Egypt. At the same time, A. fabae was found in one location only. Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) in mtDNA Cytochrome

Preliminary studies on cowpea resistance to Aphis craccivora Koch (Hom., Aphididae)

Zeitschrift für Angewandte Entomologie, 1984
AbstractThe resistance of cowpea cultivars to Aphis craccivora Koch was studied in the field, screenhouse and laboratory. In the fields the rate of population growth was significantly higher on Vita 1 and TVu 946 than on TVu 310 and 408‐p‐2. Observations of the feeding behaviour and reproduction of the aphids in the screenhouse and laboratory showed ...

Mechanism of resistance to pirimicarb in the cowpea aphid Aphis craccivora

Crop Protection, 2017
Abstract A resistant strain of Aphis craccivora Koch was selected with pirimicarb for 12 generations. The selected strain exhibited 47-fold resistance compared to the susceptible laboratory strain. The resistant strain also showed cross-resistance to carbosulfan, malathion, chlorpyrifos methyl and thiamethoxam.

Structural analysis of the corpus allatum of an aphid, Aphis craccivora

Journal of Insect Physiology, 1976
Abstract The structure of the corpus allatum of Aphis craccivora was examined when the gland was in both the active and inactive state. Active glands contained large rounded nuclei around the periphery and a central nervous section with many neurosecretory axons.
