Host Races of Aphis gossypii (Homoptera: Aphididae) on Cucumber and Chrysanthemum

Environmental Entomology, 1994
The aphid Aphis gossypii Glover generally is seen as a highly polyphagous species with mainly parthenogenetic reproduction. This study shows that genotypes living on cucumber and chrysanthemum behave as genetically distinct host races, Little or no reproduction occurs after reciprocal host transfers. Rearing for three generations of the cucumber clones

Acquisition and transmission of selected CTV isolates by Aphis gossypii

Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology, 2014
Abstract Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) is a severe threat to the citrus industry. Disease symptoms and severity may vary depending on the CTV isolates. These are responsible for the decline of trees grafted on sour orange rootstock, or stem pitting on some citrus commercial cultivars regardless of rootstock.

A cost of alarm pheromone production in cotton aphids, Aphis gossypii

Naturwissenschaften, 2004
The sesquiterpene, (E)-beta-farnesene, is used by many aphid species as an alarm pheromone to warn related individuals of predation. Disturbed cotton aphids, Aphis gossypii Glover, released (E)-beta-farnesene into the air as detected by solid phase microextraction and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

Monitoring of Aphis gossypii Using Greenseeker and SPAD Meter

Journal of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing, 2016
Cotton aphid (Aphis gossypii) is considered as one of the most important agriculture pest for the cotton production. However, it is generally labor-intensive and time-consuming to obtain some information of Cotton aphid with conventional methods through direct measurement by sampling in the field. This study explores the potential of using a new method
