Antcin K, a Triterpenoid Compound from Antrodia camphorata, Displays Antidiabetic and Antihyperlipidemic Effects via Glucose Transporter 4 and AMP‐Activated Protein Kinase Phosphorylation in Muscles

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2016, Issue 1, 2016., 2016
The purpose of this study was to screen firstly the potential effects of antcin K (AnK), the main constituent of the fruiting body of Antrodia camphorata, in vitro and further evaluate the activities and mechanisms in high‐fat‐diet‐ (HFD‐) induced mice. Following 8‐week HFD‐induction, mice were treated with AnK, fenofibrate (Feno), metformin (Metf), or

Agaricoglycerides Protect against Hepatic Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury by Attenuating Inflammatory Response, Oxidative Stress, and Expression of NF‐κB

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
We have investigated the effects of agaricoglycerides (AG) in a mouse model of hepatic I/R injury. I/R triggered increases/changes in markers of liver injury, hepatic oxidative stress, tumor necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α), interleukin‐1β (IL‐1β), and nuclear factor κB (NF‐κB).

Variations in Element Levels Accumulated in Different Parts of Boletus edulis Collected from Central Yunnan Province, China

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
ICP‐AES and microwave assisted digestion were applied to determine P, Mg, Ca, Zn, Na, Cu, Ba, Ni, V, Cd, Sr, Co, and Li in the caps and stipes of Boletus edulis collected from six spatially distant sites in Yunnan province, China. Fruiting bodies of King Bolete are abundant in P, Mg, Ca, Zn, Cu, and Na, followed by Ba, Cd, Ni, V, Li, Sr, and Co ...

Hypoglycemic Effect of Ethanol and Ethyl Acetate Extract of Phellinus baumii Fruiting Body in Streptozotocin‐Induced Diabetic Mice

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
We investigated hypoglycemic effect of ethanol (EtOH) and ethyl acetate extract acetate (AcOEt) extracts in streptozotocin‐ (STZ‐) induced diabetic mice. Our data showed the maximum inhibitory effect on the fasting plasma glucose (FPG) level was detected in STZ‐induced diabetic mice administered with 400 mg/kg AcOEt extract of P. baumii.

An Extract of Antrodia camphorata Mycelia Attenuates the Progression of Nephritis in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus‐Prone NZB/W F1 Mice

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
Antrodia camphorata is used in folk medicine for the treatment of inflammation syndromes and liver‐related diseases in Taiwan. The goal of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the mycelial extract of A. camphorata (ACE) for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in SLE‐prone NZB/W F1 mice. After antibodies against double‐stranded DNA
