Hydrogen Induced Cracking HIC Resistance in HSLA API 5L X65 e 5L X80 Steels

OTC Brasil, 2017
Abstract In the oil and natural gas production chain the structures for transport and extraction of the product are damaged by the conditions they are exposed to, which generally contain H2S, reducing the properties and the good performance of these pipes.

Sklonost čelika API 5L X80 prema hladnim pukotinama

Zavarivanje, 2012

Cooling rate effects in the welding of API 5L-X80 steel

Welding International, 2016
AbstractOne of the main reasons for the development of API 5L-X80 steel was its use in polar regions, where high toughness at low temperatures is required. This work studied the effect of the cooling rate in welding on the mechanical and metallurgical properties of this type of steel.

Induction Hot Bending and Heat Treatment of 20” API 5L X80 Pipe

Volume 3: Materials and Joining; Pipeline Automation and Measurement; Risk and Reliability, Parts A and B, 2006
The present work discusses the effect of the induction hot bending process on the microstructure and the mechanical properties of an API 5L X80, 20” pipe produced by the UOE process. The key characteristic of the pipe was the manufacturing process of the steel plate, involving thermomechanical controlled rolling without accelerated cooling.

Corrosion by Sulfate Reducing Bacteria in Welded Joints of Stell API 5L X80

Materials Science Forum, 2016
Articles report that the sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB) are the main micro-organisms related to cases of corrosion. They reduce the sulfate ion resulting in the production of sulfide, disulfide and hydrogen sulfide, potential agents of corrosion of ferrous materials.

Microstructural Evaluation of API 5L X80 Pipeline Steels Submitted to Different Cooling Rates

Materials Science Forum, 2010
During the life cycle of an API steel there are occasions when it will be submitted to thermal cycle. For tubes produced by the UOE process, for the oil and gas industry, severe thermal cycles occur during the welding procedure and when the tube requires hot induction bending.

Microstructural Evolution of HSLA ISO 3183 X80M (API 5L X80) Friction Stir Welded Joints

Metals and Materials International, 2018
Evaluation was made of friction stir welded joints, identifying conditions that resulted in satisfactory welded joints free from defects and with microstructural characteristics that provided good mechanical properties. Microstructural characterization and cooling curve analysis of the joints with lower and higher heat inputs evidenced deformation ...

Characterization of Mechanical Properties and Residual Stress in API 5L X80 Steel Welded Joints

Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2017
The use of high-strength and low-alloy steels, high design factors and increasingly stringent safety requirements have increased the operating pressure levels and, consequently, the need for further studies to avoid and prevent premature pipe failure.

Multiphase-flow-induced corrosion and cavitation-erosion damages of API 5L X80 and API 5DP grade S steels

Wear, 2020
Abstract The objective of this work is to establish a performance classification based on the mass loss of API 5L X80 and 5DP S steel drill pipes caused by multiphase-flow-induced corrosion and cavitation. Multiphase-flow-loop tests were conducted using a mixture of 20% heavy oil (150 cP) + 80% deionized water, containing 15% of sodium chloride, at ...

Karakterizacija mikrostrukture zavara čelika API 5L X80

2012
