Gutta-percha points at apicoectomy
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1979A gutta-percha root-filling point placed during apicoectomy may be condensed by the application of pressure to its coronal end or tension to its apical end. Scanning electron microscopy clearly demonstrates the effect that these techniques have on the adaptation of the root filling to the canal.

Apicoectomy with retrograde gutta-percha root filling
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1989Sixty-four teeth were treated by means of apicoectomy with retrograde gutta-percha filling with the use of new instruments that we devised. The new instruments consisted of a biangle explorer, angle reamers, and angle files. Operations with this technique showed a success rate of 95.3% (61/64 teeth).

The case series comprised 100 patients. The teeth treated were incisors and canines.
