Patterns of single nucleotide polymorphism (snp) variation: further insights into the complex history of the iberian honeybee [PDF]
The Iberian Peninsula harbours the greatest honeybee genetic diversity and complexity in Europe. The challenge of deciphering the mechanisms underlying such complexity has led to numerous morphological and molecular marker-based surveys of the Iberian ...

Measurement of the threshold sensitivity of honeybees to weak, extremely low-frequency magnetic fields [PDF]
Experiments reported previously demonstrate that free-flying honeybees are able to detect static intensity fluctuations as weak as 26 nT against the background, earth-strength magnetic field.

The year cycle of crystallization point of different departments of a body of honeybee is shown in dynamics. Distinction of crystallization point of tissues of honeybee in Apis mellifera mellifera and Apis mellifera carnica is noted. The given indicator will allow to explain the mechanism of adaptation of bees at physiological level to adverse winter ...

NMR imaging of the honeybee brain
NMR microscopy provides non-invasively distinct soft-tissue contrast in small biological samples. We were able to visualize the three-dimensional structure of the honeybee brain in its natural shape in the intact head capsule.

Genetska raznolikost sive pčele (Apis mellifera carnica) u Republici Hrvatskoj

Expression and Activity of Lysozyme in Apis Mellifera Carnica Brood Infested with Varroa Destructor
Varroa destructor is a parasitic mite that attacks the honey bee, and previous studies have suggested that parasitosis caused by this mite is accompanied by immunosuppresion in the host.
