Alaskan ascidians are incompletely known and rarely sampled. The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center recently conducted an extensive survey of harbors and marinas for nonindigenous species at major marine traffic sites on the Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound in Alaska.
