Metabolism of apolipoprotein A-IV

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1984
The terms “lipoprotein-free’’ and “lipoproteinassociated” are used to denote those studies in which apoA-IV was fractionated by means other than ultracentrifugation. Because of the introduction of artifacts by ultracentrifugation and a reliance of different physical properties for separation by the alternative methods, “lipoprotein- free” and ...

UTX Responds to Nanotopography to Suppress Macrophage Inflammatory Response by Remodeling H3K27me3 Modification

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Compared with those on the pTi surface, macrophages on the TNTs surface present reduced myosin II contractility, which facilitates the nuclear translocation of the UTX. This reduction decreases the enrichment of the repressive H3K27me3 histone modification at the Abca1 gene locus, which promotes the transcription and protein expression of ABCA1 ...

OXidative Stress PREDictor: A Supervised Learning Approach for Annotating Cellular Oxidative Stress States in Inflammatory Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
OxSpred, an eXtreme‐Gradient‐Boosting‐‐based supervised learning model, accurately annotates oxidative stress in innate immune cells at the single‐cell level, providing interpretable embeddings with significant biological relevance. This innovative tool revolutionizes the understanding of innate immune cell functions during inflammation and enhances ...

Effects of a dietary intervention with lacto-ovo-vegetarian and Mediterranean diets on apolipoproteins and inflammatory cytokines: results from the CARDIVEG study

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism
Background Apolipoproteins have been recently proposed as novel markers of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. However, evidence regarding effects of diet on apolipoproteins is limited.

Apolipoprotein F concentration, activity, and the properties of LDL controlling ApoF activation in hyperlipidemic plasma

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2022
Apolipoprotein F (ApoF) modulates lipoprotein metabolism by selectively inhibiting cholesteryl ester transfer protein activity on LDL. This ApoF activity requires that it is bound to LDL. How hyperlipidemia alters total plasma ApoF and its binding to LDL

Alzheimer's Association clinical practice guideline for the Diagnostic Evaluation, Testing, Counseling, and Disclosure of Suspected Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (DETeCD‐ADRD): Executive summary of recommendations for primary care

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, EarlyView.
Abstract US clinical practice guidelines for the diagnostic evaluation of cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) or AD and related dementias (ADRD) are decades old and aimed at specialists. This evidence‐based guideline was developed to empower all—including primary care—clinicians to implement a structured approach for evaluating a ...

Atherosclerosis-associated hepatic secretion of VLDL but not PCSK9 is dependent on cargo receptor protein Surf4

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2021
Plasma LDL is produced from catabolism of VLDL and cleared from circulation mainly via the hepatic LDL receptor (LDLR). Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) promotes LDLR degradation, increasing plasma LDL-C levels.

Premenopausal bilateral oophorectomy and Alzheimer's disease imaging biomarkers later in life

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, EarlyView.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Premenopausal bilateral oophorectomy (PBO) before the age of 46 years is associated with an increased risk of dementia. We investigated the long‐term effects of PBO performed before age 50 years on amyloid beta (Aβ), tau, and neurodegeneration imaging biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Dabigatran and apolipoprotein B [PDF]

open access: yesHeart, 2015
Dabigatran is the first of a series of new direct acting oral anticoagulants that was clinically introduced for the prevention of ischaemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). In the randomized evaluation of long-term anticoagulation therapy (RE-LY) study, dabigatran was shown to be superior or non-inferior to warfarin in preventing ...

A mouse coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model with tail‐looping constructed using a suturing method

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.
