Mineralization density and apparent density in mandibular condyle bone

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2009
This study evaluated a method for determining the density and distribution of bone of mandibular condyles using proprietary computerized tomography (CT) software.Thirty-eight condylar specimens were investigated with a high-resolution multislice CT. The density was determined by using bone density analysis algorithms available within the proprietary ...

Apparent densities of orbital debris

Advances in Space Research, 1993
Abstract Means and standard deviations of area-to-mass ratios for orbital debris tracked by US Space Command (USSPACECOM) were calculated from changes in apogee and perigee altitude due to atmospheric drag. Historical radar cross sections (RCSs) were analyzed to determine their means and standard deviations.

Apparent Density of Air-Water Mixtures

Transactions of the ASAE, 1993
A dynamic model was developed to estimate the effect of hydraulic pressure gradient on the variation of air-water mixture density. The results showed that the density increases linearly with depth in the air-water mixture. The density variation was found to be greater at higher air flow rates.

Apparent-density mapping using entropic regularization

GEOPHYSICS, 2007
We present a new apparent-density mapping method on the horizontal plane that combines the minimization of the first-order entropy with the maximization of the zeroth-order entropy of the estimated density contrasts. The interpretation model consists of a grid of vertical, juxtaposed prisms in both horizontal directions. We assume that the top and the

Apparent fiber density of glaucomatous optic nerves

Acta Ophthalmologica, 2019
AbstractPurposeTo investigate alteration of apparent fiber density (AFD), a novel diffusion MRI (dMRI) measure of white matter degeneration, in the optic nerves (ONs) of glaucoma patients. Furthermore, we aimed to study the correlation between AFD of glaucomatous ONs and peripapillary retinal never fiber layer (pRNFL) thickness and visual field mean ...

Apparent Density Variations in a Fluidized Bed

Transactions of the ASAE, 1992
Abstract The physical characteristics of a gaseous fluidized bed and their influence on the bed’s apparent density were examined. The effects of air velocity through the bed, air distributor resistance, medium particles size, and the location within the bed were evaluated.

Apparent Body Density and Variability during Underwater Weighing

Research Quarterly. American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, 1968
Abstract A study was conducted to determine the minimum number of trials necessary to establish “true” underwater weight during body density measurements on 86 college females. Nine to 10 trials of underwater weight were recorded for each subject. The results showed a significant upward trend of a curved nature during successive trials of weighing.

Apparent densities of spermatozoa of various mammalian species

Gamete Research, 1988
AbstractThe apparent densities of sperm cells in several mammalian species were determined by means of Percoll density‐gradient centrifugation. Semen samples were obtained from (1) ejaculates from the bull, human, and rabbit, and (2) from the cauda epididymis of the goat, golden hamster, house musk shrew, mastomys, and mouse.

Apparent particle density of a fine particle

Powder Technology, 1988
Abstract The electrodynamic balance is used to measure the apparent density of individual synthetic char particles known as ‘Spherocarbs’. A distribution in apparent density measurements seems to correlate with the existence of large cavities inside some of the ‘Spherocarb’ particles.
