Learning Random Numbers to Realize Appendable Memory System for Artificial Intelligence to Acquire New Knowledge after Deployment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this study, we developed a learning method for constructing a neural network system capable of memorizing data and recalling it without parameter updates. The system we built using this method is called the Appendable Memory system. The Appendable Memory system enables an artificial intelligence (AI) to acquire new knowledge even after deployment ...

Extraction of terminal ileal lipomas to cecum can facilitate endoscopic resection: A case series with video

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract Large ileal lipomas over 2 cm can cause symptoms, that may require a resection. Due to the narrow lumen and thin walls of the ileum, endoscopic treatments can have a high risk of adverse events and require technical expertise, thus surgical resection is currently the mainstay of treatment.

Appendicitis after endoscopic band ligation for massive ileocecal hemorrhage

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract A 68‐year‐old man was admitted with hematochezia. Emergency computed tomography showed multiple diverticula throughout the colon. Initial colonoscopy on day 2 showed no active bleeding, but massive hematochezia on day 3 led to the performance of an emergency endoscopy.

Endoscopic mucosal resection with an over‐the‐scope clip for colorectal tumors (with video)

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract Background Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection may result in complications or may be unsuitable for tumors that are difficult to treat endoscopically. We investigated the usefulness of a newly developed endoscopic resection technique—EMR with an over‐the‐scope clip (EMR‐O)—for difficult‐to‐treat lesions ...

Predicting Risk of Acute Appendicitis: A Comparison of Artificial Neural Network and Logistic Regression Models

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 2019
Acute appendicitis is considered as one of the most prevalent diseases needing urgent action. Diagnosis of appendicitis is often complicated, and more precision in diagnosis is essential.
