Modeling stream processing applications for dependability evaluation
2011 IEEE/IFIP 41st International Conference on Dependable Systems & Networks (DSN), 2011This paper describes a modeling framework for evaluating the impact of faults on the output of streaming applications. Our model is based on three abstractions: stream operators, stream connections, and tuples. By composing these abstractions within a Stochastic Activity Network, we allow the modeling of complete applications.

Modelling long-range-dependent Gaussian processes with application in continuous-time financial models [PDF]
This paper considers a class of continuous-time long-range-dependent Gaussian processes. The corresponding spectral density is assumed to have a general and flexible form, which covers some important and special cases. For example, the spectral density of a continuous-time fractional stochastic differential equation is included.

Process-Dependent Circuit Modeling and Simulation of SOI JFETs: Digital VLSI Applications
SIMULATION, 1993Accurate circuit modeling and simulation of Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) enhancement and depletion Junction Field-Effect transis tors (JFETs) is presented. The nonuniformity in FET device parameters along the channel depth (due to fabrication processes), is taken into account. This is typical in SOI and other thin-film struc tures. Since SOI fabrication

Application of Variable Structure Models to Oscillatory and Spatially-Dependent Processes
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1996In this paper, the variable structure model (VSM) approach is applied to modeling and parameter estimation in processes exhibiting simple and complex relaxation oscillations. The approach reduces the full model to two simple submodels and permanently chooses the submodel which has a better performance in the description of the input−output behavior of ...

Software Dependability Applications in Process Modeling
2005Software process modeling can be used to reason about strategies for attaining software dependability. The impact of different processes and technologies on dependability attributes can be evaluated through modeling and simulation. Strategies may have overlapping capabilities, and process modeling is useful for assessing mixed strategies. Dependability

Proceedings 6th International Workshop on Petri Nets and Performance Models, 2002
Stochastic Petri nets (SPNs) have emerged over the years as a favored approach for performance and dependability modeling and evaluation. Their usual utilization assumes that systems specification and design do not evolve, in opposition to real-life.
