Supporting Appropriate User-Developed Applications
Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, 1995This paper examines User Developed Applications (UDAs) with the goal of providing a framework that managers can use for identifying and supporting appropriate UDAs. Tradeoffs between UDAs and traditionally developed systems throughout the systems development life cycle are identified.

Supporting application development in the semantic web
ACM Transactions on Internet Technology, 2005The Semantic Web augments the current WWW by giving information a well-defined meaning, better enabling computers and people to work in cooperation. This is done by adding machine understandable content to Web resources. Such added content is called metadata, whose semantics is provided by referring to an ontology---a domain's conceptualization agreed ...

Group decision support system: development and application
International Professional Communication Conference 'Communicating to the World.', 2003A computerized group decision support system has been developed to collect and reduce data representing group members' individual evaluations of options available for action. The system uses barcode voting sheets or individual keypads for data input, and it outputs its results to a standard spreadsheet program, for creation of histograms, or to a word ...

Supporting multi-view development for mobile applications
Journal of Computer Languages, 2019Abstract Interest in mobile application development has significantly increased. The need for rapid, iterative development coupled with the diversity of platforms, technologies and frameworks impacts on the productivity of developers. In this paper we propose a new approach and tool support, Rapid APPlication Tool (RAPPT), that enables rapid ...

Developing and testing a mobile application for breastfeeding support: The Milky Way application
Women and Birth, 2021Supporting women to continue breastfeeding is a global challenge. The Milky Way Program is an effective face to face intervention to increase breastfeeding rates up to six months postpartum. The sustainability and access to the Milky Way Program could be enhanced by transforming it into a mobile application allowing women to access relevant information

Supporting Rapid Application Development on Symbian Platform
EUROCON 2005 - The International Conference on "Computer as a Tool", 2005Programniing for the Symbian OS assumes that developers invest particular and uncommon work, therefore the development lifecycle is rather longer and the costs are usually higher than these of common C++ software development. Dealing with user interface, database or communication, programming is not so straightforward as expected.

Tool Support for Financial Application Development
2019In this chapter we describe in detail how to use the UML-RSDS tools to specify and implement financial applications on a number of different platforms. We describe how the tools can be combined with the use of Excel, and how the tools can be extended to provide code-generation facilities for new target programming languages.

Development of communication support application with blinks
IISA 2014, The 5th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications, 2014In this study, we try to develop a new application for physically handicapped children to communicate with others by a blink. Because of limited body movements and mental disorders, many of them cannot communicate with their families or caregivers. We think if they can use applications of smart phones by a blink, it will be big help for them to tell ...

Supporting wireless application development via virtual execution
2008 International Multiconference on Computer Science and Information Technology, 2008We introduce our ldquoholisticrdquo platform for building wireless ad hoc sensor networks and focus on its most representative and essential virtualization component: VUE2 (the Virtual Underlay Emulation Engine). Its role is to provide a vehicle for authoritative emulation of complete networked applications before physically deploying the wireless ...
