In the electrical and medical industries the trend towards further miniaturization of devices is accompanied by the demand for smaller manufacturing tolerances. Such industries use a plentitude of small and narrow cold rolled metal strips with high thickness accuracy. Conventional rolling mills can hardly achieve further improvement of these tolerances.

In this study, we examined correlates of adherence and contamination in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of exercise in cancer survivors using the theory of planned behavior and the Five Factor Model of personality (FFM). We randomly assigned cancer survivors in group psychotherapy classes to either a waiting-list control group (n = 45) or a home ...

I discuss our recent results on (i) various equivalent formulations of compact physics-compliant models of wave scattering in metasurface-programmable complex media in terms of coupled dipoles, scattering matrices or impedance matrices; (ii) how to estimate these models’ parameters in full-wave simulations or experimentally in frugal manners (e.g ...

Many innovative solutions have been developed by the aeronautical sector toward achieving the future "sustainable" aircraft that will be cleaner, quieter, smarter, and more affordable. Weight reduction is one of the most significant contributors to sustainability, as it improves aircraft performance (fuel consumption, noise, range) and consequently ...

This thesis deals with game theory and its applications in management science and focuses upon some management science areas such as inventory control and new product development. Some interesting theoretical findings and new policies are obtained by using the game theoretical approach to analyze certain management science problems.
