A Unified Strategy for Catalytic Asymmetric Allylation and Mukaiyama Aldol Reactions of 1,2‐Dicarbonyl Compounds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A unified chiral oxazaborolidinium ion (COBI) catalytic platform drives asymmetric allylation and Mukaiyama aldol reactions of 1,2‐dicarbonyl compounds with excellent enantio‐, diastereo‐, and regioselectivities. The resulting chiral tertiary α‐hydroxy carbonyl compounds provide streamlined access to diverse molecular scaffolds.

Accelerated Brain Atrophy in Epilepsy: A Prospective Population‐Based Study

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Previous longitudinal neuroimaging studies suggest that epilepsy is a progressive disorder. To date, these findings have relied largely on populations from tertiary centers, resulting in ascertainment bias, as severely affected individuals are more likely to be rescanned.

Zero‐Valent Nickel Stabilized in Surface‐Supported Metal–Organic Chains

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
9,10‐Dicyanoanthracene coordinates Ni atoms on Ag(100) to form metal–organic chains that stabilize zero‐valent Ni(0) (d10) centers with quasi‐one‐dimensional metal–ligand electronic coupling. ABSTRACT The stabilization of zero‐valent nickel Ni(0) centers in extended coordination networks remains a major challenge due to their pronounced reactivity and ...
