Millisecond‐Scale Relaxation in Metastable HZO Ferroelectric Capacitors for Bio‐Inspired Temporal Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Through the introduction of a niobium oxide layer into a hafnia ferroelectric capacitor stack, we build a memory device with a strong imprint effect. This imprint leads to a millisecond retention loss that can be tuned by the programming conditions that can be utilized as a scalable, analog hardware time constant for bio‐inspired temporal computing ...

Analog Weight Update Rule in Ferroelectric Hafnia, Using picoJoule Programming Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Resistive, ferroelectric synaptic weights based on BEOL‐compatible hafnia/zirconia nanolaminates are fabricated. Lateral downscaling the devices below 10 µm2 enables 20 ns programming with electrical pulses, dissipating ≤ 3 pJ. Experimental results show that final conductance state is set by pulse amplitude, and is largely independent of the initial ...

Experimental Demonstration of Temporally Aware Fault‐Tolerant Sensor Fusion Using Memristive Associative Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
In dynamic driving scenarios, the proposed approach ensures only temporally aligned sensor inputs to make driving decisions, preventing false activations. By enabling selective hardware‐level learning, it achieves fast, reliable responses under noisy conditions.

Drift Reduction in 2D PtSe2 Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors Through an On‐Chip Wheatstone Bridge

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Drift is a major source of error affecting the accuracy and repeatability of sensors. A Wheatstone bridge (WSB) enables high sensitivity, accuracy, and the elimination of common‐mode drift. We apply the WSB concept to highly sensitive piezoresistive pressure sensors made with two‐dimensional layered platinum diselenide transducers.

Fluorinated Methylammonium Cation Containing Perovskite Solar Cells With Over 25% Power Conversion Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Fluoromethylammonium iodide (FMAI) is prepared using a facile procedure through a simple nucleophilic reaction between fluoroiodomethane and ammonia in methanol and tested in n‐i‐p perovskite solar cells. FMA+ cation in combination with FA+ and Cs+ cations affords a power conversion efficiency close to 26% with a long‐term operational stability for ...

Extreme Weather Events and Consumer Food Responses

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates consumer food responses to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which affected a swath of the Southeastern U.S. in 2024. Using representative consumer survey data from six affected states, we analyze 10 distinct food responses classified into ex ante and ex post responses, and examine their associations with food insufficiency

Trump Tariffs 2.0: Assessing the Impacts on US Distilled Spirits Imports

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The proposed 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada could have significant repercussions on US imports of distilled spirits. This study estimates US import demand across various spirit categories (e.g., tequila, whiskey) and assesses the potential impact of the proposed tariff.

Food Prices and Inflation Expectations in New Zealand

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Food prices are conspicuous, and spending on food constitutes a considerable share of household expenditure. In this study, we use partially identified Bayesian structural vector autoregression models to analyze the effects of food price shocks on core inflation and 1‐ and 5‐year inflation expectations in New Zealand.
