Electrical breakdown of power rectifiers for electric gun applications

Digest of Technical Papers. Tenth IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference, 2002
Experiments have been performed with a 100 kJ pulse-forming network (PFN) to characterize the transient behavior of semiconductor diodes serving as capacitor-protecting devices. In addition to the experiments, computer techniques are used to illustrate and predict the dynamic behavior of PFN diodes.

Electrical characterization of MFC for low power applications

2016 IEEE 16th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC), 2016
This paper aims to show some applications of microbial fuel cells (MFCs), a suitable energy harvesting technique, as clean power source to supply a wireless sensor network for environmental monitoring or wastewater treatment or biosensor. An MFC is a bioreactor that converts energy stored in chemical bonds of organic matter into electrical energy.

Applications of superconductivity to electric power systems

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2000
The interest in superconducting systems stems from their promise to be more efficient, smaller, and lighter than those made from conventional conductors. The types of applications in which superconductivity has the potential to be effective in an electric power system can be separated into two general classes. The first type includes those technologies
