Properties of solutions of optimization problems for set functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
A definition of a special class of optimization problems with set functions is given. The existence of optimal solutions and first-order optimality conditions are proved.

On conditional cuts for stochastic dual dynamic programming

open access: yesEURO Journal on Computational Optimization, 2020
Multistage stochastic programs arise in many applications from engineering whenever a set of inventories or stocks has to be valued. Such is the case in seasonal storage valuation of a set of cascaded reservoir chains in hydro management.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Pentagonal 2D Altermagnets: Material Screening and Altermagnetic Tunneling Junction Device Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
From a database of 170 pentagonal 2D materials, 4 candidates exhibiting altermagnetic ordering are screened. Furthermore, the spin‐splitting and unconventional boundary states in the pentagonal 2D altermagnetic monolayer MnS2 are investigated. A MnS2‐based altermagnetic tunneling junction is designed and, through ab initio quantum transport simulations,

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Interval Weighted Comparison Matrices – A Review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Industrial Engineering and Production Research, 2010
Nowadays, interval comparison matrices (ICM) take an important role in decision making under uncertainty. So it seems that a brief review on solution methods used in ICM should be useful. In this paper, the common methods are divided into four categories

Models and applications of stochastic programming with decision‐dependent uncertainty in power systems: A review

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
Stochastic programming is a competitive tool in power system uncertainty management. Traditionally, stochastic programming assumes uncertainties to be exogenous and independent of decisions.
