Carbon Nanotube Hydrogels Reveal Threshold‐Dependent Regulation of Neuroblastoma Cell Growth and Maturation by Mechanical and Chemical Factors

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 5, Issue 11, November 2025.
Poly(vinyl alcohol)/carbon nanotube (PVA/CNT) hydrogels with unprecedented CNT loading (75% w/w) were engineered as 3D scaffolds for nerve regeneration. By tuning Young's modulus (YM), CNT concentration, and pore size, distinct thresholds controlling cell coverage were identified. Optimized scaffolds achieved > 70% coverage and upregulated β‐3‐tubulin (

Generating Logical Architectures from SysML Behavior Models

open access: yesSystems Engineering, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 762-778, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Modeling solution‐neutral operating principles of system features as SysML behavior models enable systems engineers to specify reusable product features for a variety of similar products and to specify and document a product's functionality in an easy‐to‐understand manner.

Structure–activity relationship of the allosteric effects of ivermectin at human P2X4 and GABAA receptors

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue 21, Page 5286-5302, November 2025.
Abstract Background and purpose Positive allosteric modulation of the P2X4 receptor is a potential route to providing cardiovascular benefit through enhancing flow‐dependent arterial vasodilation and providing cardioprotection. However, ligands that selectively enhance P2X4 activity are absent.

Niclosamide prodrug enhances oral bioavailability and efficacy against hepatocellular carcinoma by targeting vasorin‐TGFβ signalling

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue 22, Page 5517-5535, November 2025.
Abstract Background and Purpose Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the third leading cause of cancer‐related deaths worldwide, has limited treatment options and high mortality rate. We previously used a bioinformatics approach to identify niclosamide (NIC) as a promising repurposed drug candidate for HCC.

Human tissue kallikrein 14 induces the expression of IL‐6, IL‐8, and CXCL1 in skin fibroblasts through protease‐activated receptor 1 signaling

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 21, Page 5659-5675, November 2025.
Human tissue kallikrein 14 (KLK14), a skin protease, may mediate paracrine signaling in wound healing. KLK14 released by epithelial cells activates fibroblasts via PAR‐1 activation, inducing IL‐6, IL‐8, and CXCL1 expression. These cytokines in turn promote keratinocyte proliferation and migration, resulting in wound closure.
