Clubs and Their Applications

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Algebra and Geometry
Clubs of rank k are well-celebrated objects in finite geometries introduced by Fancsali and Sziklai in 2006. After the connection with a special type of arcs known as KM-arcs, they renewed their interest. This paper aims to study clubs of rank n in PG$(1,q^n)$.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Applicability and applications of the method of fundamental solutions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2009
In the present work, we investigate the applicability of the method of fundamental solutions for the solution of boundary value problems of elliptic partial differential equations and elliptic systems. More specifically, we study whether linear combinations of fundamental solutions can approximate the solutions of the boundary ...

Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

The Diagnostic Value of Mir-133a in ST Elevation and Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Meta-Analysis

open access: yesCells, 2020
Numerous studies have reported correlations between plasma microRNA signatures and cardiovascular disease. MicroRNA-133a (Mir-133a) has been researched extensively for its diagnostic value in acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

EXPANDING THE APPLICABILITY OF SECANT METHOD WITH APPLICATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, 2015
We present new sufficient convergence criteria for the convergence of the secant-method to a locally unique solution of a nonlinear equation in a Banach space. Our idea uses Lipschitz and center–Lipschitz instead of just Lipschitz conditions in the convergence analysis.

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

Application-independent reconciliation for nomadic applications [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 9th workshop on ACM SIGOPS European workshop beyond the PC: new challenges for the operating system - EW 9, 2000
We describe attempts to build an application-independent model to support reconciliation of diverged replicas of shared objects. While replicas are disconnected from one another, actions on the shared objects are recorded in a log. An action is composed of a precondition, an operation and a postcondition.
