A majority of methods from dynamical systems analysis, especially those in applied settings, rely on Poincar\'e's geometric picture that focuses on "dynamics of states".

Choreographic Programming is a correct-by-construction paradigm where a compilation procedure synthesises deadlock-free, concurrent, and distributed communicating processes from global, declarative descriptions of communications, called choreographies. Previous work used choreographies for the synthesis of programs. Alas, there is no formalisation that

Imagination is a fundamental human capacity, and to navigate our current global challenges, we need to define and encourage the practice of imagination, or what we term “applied imagination.” In this study, we convened a series of focus groups or “virtual salons” to address three guiding questions: (1) How might we define imagination? (2) How might we (

A new era of data protection laws arises after the adoption of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union. One of the newly adopted regulations of processing of personal data is Californian Consumer Privacy Act commonly referred to as CCPA. The article aims to fill the gap considering a deep analysis of the territorial scope of

Dependence of spin torque diode voltage on applied field direction [PDF]
The optimum condition of an applied field direction to maximize spin torque diode voltage was theoretically derived for a magnetic tunnel junction with a perpendicularly magnetized free layer and an in-plane magnetized pinned layer. We found that the diode voltage for a relatively small applied field is maximized when the projection of the applied ...

Applying Theory to Applied Ethnography [PDF]
In applied ethnographic praxis, how should we use theory? Exploring how existing theory from a variety of domains has supported and advanced our work, this paper justifies and demonstrates how theory can be used in an accessible and practical manner when framing research and analyzing experience in the field.

Periodically Gated Bilayer Graphene as an Electronic Metamaterial [PDF]
We study ballistic transport in periodically gated bilayer graphene as a candidate for a 2D electronic metamaterial. Our calculations use the equilibrium Green function formalism and take into account quantum corrections to charge density changes induced by a periodically modulated top gate voltage.
