Numerical Simulation of the Dynamics of Listeria Monocytogenes Biofilms
A biofilm is a layer of microorganisms attached to a surface and protected by a matrix of exopolysaccharides. Biofilm structures difficult the removal of microorganisms, thus the study of the type of structures formed throughout a biofilm life cycle is ...

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Rapid Diagnostics of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces Using Space‐Time‐Coding Modulation
A fast reconfigurable‐intelligent‐surface (RIS) diagnostics method is proposed based on spatio‐temporal modulation with orthogonal codes. Theoretical analysis demonstrates a clear distinction in code channel power between normal and faulty elements. Simulations validate its feasibility under high fault ratios and varying receiving angles.

A suspension of metal‐organic nanosheets was centrifuged to form self‐healing gels with a hierarchically porous structure. The prepared gels were used to selectively capture small molecules from solutions and differentially release them based on their size and charge. Abstract Metal‐organic nanosheets (MONs) are intrinsically porous 2D materials with a

An extension of relational methods in mortality estimations
Actuaries and demographers have a long tradition of utilising collateral data to improve mortality estimates. Three main approaches have been used to accomplish the improvement- mortality laws, model life tables, and relational methods. The present paper

Detection of Discontinuity Points in one Variable Functions using Spaces of Trigonometric Functions
Given a set of Lagrange type data in two dimensions and assuming that the points of the data set are associated with the graph of an explicit function with discontinuities, one wants to determine the points at which the function exhibits discontinuities.
