ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

On improved P1-interpolation error estimates in W1,p(0, 1): application to the finite element method
Based on a new Taylor-like formula, we derived an improved interpolation error estimate in W1,p. We compare it with the classical error estimates based on the standard Taylor formula, and also with the corresponding interpolation error estimate, derived

On a Logistic Approximation to the Normal and Other Cumulative Distribution Functions
This paper proposes an approach that maintains the simplicity of various approximations as well as having a closed- form algebraic inverse yet easily generalizable to the approximation of other cumulative distribution functions.

The Gaussian approximation is commonly used to evaluate the performance of free space optical communication systems. However, other performance evaluation methods such as the saddle point approximation, Chernoff bound and the modified Chernoff bound have

A bound on the error introduced by truncating a quantum addition is given. This bound shows that only a few controlled rotation gates will be necessary to get a reliable computation.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

A posteriori error estimates of hp spectral element method for parabolic optimal control problems
In this paper, we investigate the spectral element approximation for the optimal control problem of parabolic equation, and present a hp spectral element approximation scheme for the parabolic optimal control problem.

On Errors of Normal Approximation
Let $Q_n$ be the distribution of the normalized sum of $n$ independent random vectors with values in $R^k$, and $\Phi$ the standard normal distribution in $R^k$. In this article the error $|\int f d(Q_n - \Phi)|$ is estimated (for essentially) all real-valued functions $f$ on $R^k$ which are integrable with respect to $Q_n$ when $s$th moments are ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
