Runge approximation on convex sets implies the Oka property

open access: yes, 2005
We prove that the classical Oka property of a complex manifold Y, concerning the existence and homotopy classification of holomorphic mappings from Stein manifolds to Y, is equivalent to a Runge approximation property for holomorphic maps from compact ...

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

On the approximation property of excellent rings

open access: yesInventiones Mathematicae, 1987
Let A be a semilocal noetherian ring, with Jacobson radical I, whose generic formal fibres are geometrically regular. Suppose either that \({\mathbb{Q}}\subseteq A\) or that, for each minimal \(prime\quad g_ i\) of A, the fraction field of \(A/g_ i\) has a separating transcendence basis over a perfect subfield \(P_ i\) such that \(\prod P_ i\subset A ...

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

On discrete twisted C*-dynamical systems, Hilbert C*-modules and regularity

open access: yes, 2012
We first give an overview of the basic theory for discrete unital twisted C*-dynamical systems and their covariant representations on Hilbert C*-modules.

Multi‐omic profiling of squamous cell lung cancer identifies metabolites and related genes associated with squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using multi‐omic characterization, we aimed to identify key regulators specific to squamous cell lung carcinoma (SqCC). SqCC‐specific differentially expressed genes were integrated with metabolics data. High expression of the creatine transporter SLC6A8, along with elevated creatine levels, appeared to be a distinct metabolic feature of SqCC.
