A computational framework is developed to evaluate the thermo‐mechanical performance of APR1400 fuel rods with FeCrAl claddings under normal and LOCA conditions. Results show that reducing the pellet‐cladding gap enhances heat conduction and burst safety, while an 80% strength enhancement in FeCrAl claddings improves burst safety by up to 80%.

In the case of multiple‐failure accidents in light water reactors, it is imperative to demonstrate that a significant fuel damage can be prevented via prearranged mitigation measures performed by operators. However, the time elapsed from the initiation of the event to the implementation of mitigation actions significantly influences the progress and ...

A Concept of Online Refueling TRISO‐Fueled and Salt‐Cooled Reactor
This paper introduces a novel concept of a TRISO‐fueled salt‐cooled reactor (TFSCR). The core contains circulating pipes filled with molten salt carrying TRISO particles. The reactor achieves online refueling by slowly circulating the molten salt through the pipeline.

Efficient steam condensation is crucial for safe nuclear power plant (NPP) operations, preventing pressure buildup, overheating, and the release of radioactive materials. However, the presence of noncondensable gases (NCGs), such as air, nitrogen, hydrogen, or helium, can hinder the condensation process by creating a thermal resistance layer that ...
