Ideomotor and ideational apraxia in alzheimer's disease
International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, 1993AbstractIdeomotor apraxia (IMA) and ideational apraxia (IA) were studied in 32 Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients and in 30 non‐demented elderly controls using a standardized apraxia battery. AD patients performed significantly worse than controls on all apraxia tests, and were more impaired when pantomiming movements than when imitating movements.

The Representation of the Joints in Ideomotor Apraxia
2017Selecting the correct joint and trajectory to reach a new spatial configuration can be a challenging for patients with IMA. This study discovered that fewer errors in reproduction of gestures were made using a manikin as compared to reproduction of gestures on the patient’s own bodies. We hypothesize that use of the manikin allows IMA patients to focus

Ideomotor apraxia and P300: a preliminary study.
Advances in neurology, 1982Event-related cerebral potentials and reaction time were studied in two patients with life parietal lesions inducing ideomotor apraxia and in seven control subjects. Results showed no marked increase of P300 latency in the patients with respect to the control group, whereas the RT was largely lengthened. This suggests that the decision-making processes
