Optimizing Total Suspended Solids Mitigation in a Data‐Limited Watershed: A Network‐Based Advection–Reaction Model Applied to the Canal del Dique, Colombia

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Total Suspended Solids (TSS) significantly degrade water quality by reducing light penetration and oxygen availability, while facilitating the transport of toxic contaminants. Managing TSS in watersheds requires an understanding of both hydrological connectivity and pollutant dynamics; however, these efforts are significantly constrained by ...

Well‐Posedness and Pattern Formation in a Two‐Species Reaction–Diffusion System with Nonlocal Perception

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 156, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Nonlocal perceptual cues, such as visual, auditory, and olfactory signals, profoundly influence animal movement and the emergence of ecological patterns. To capture these effects, we introduce a two‐species reaction–diffusion system with mutual nonlocal perception on a two‐dimensional periodic domain.

Learning Optimal Crowd Evacuation from Scratch Through Self‐Play

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
How would a superintelligent crowd behave in emergencies? This study develops an approach using multiagent deep reinforcement learning combined with self‐play to discover optimal evacuation strategies for pressure‐aware agents. The model learns behaviors such as queuing and zipper‐merging that significantly surpass traditional approaches in fatality ...

Behavior Decoding Delineates Seizure Microfeatures and Associated Sudden Death Risks in Mouse Models of Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 99, Issue 1, Page 231-247, January 2026.
Objective Behavior and motor manifestations are distinctive yet often overlooked features of epileptic seizures. Seizures can result in transient disruptions in motor control, often organized into specific behavioral sequences that can inform seizure types, onset zones, and outcomes.

On Two Apriori-Based Rule Generators: Apriori in Prolog and Apriori in SQL

open access: yesOn Two Apriori-Based Rule Generators: Apriori in Prolog and Apriori in SQL
This paper focuses on two Apriori-based rule generators. The first is the rule generator in Prolog and C, and the second is the one in SQL. They are named Apriori in Prolog and Apriori in SQL, respectively. Each rule generator is based on the Apriori algorithm. However, each rule generator has its own properties.
