A probabilistic approach to apriori algorithm
International Journal of Granular Computing, Rough Sets and Intelligent Systems, 2010We consider the problem of applying probability concepts to discover frequent itemsets in a transaction database. The paper presents a probabilistic algorithm to discover association rules. The proposed algorithm outperforms the apriori algorithm for larger databases without losing a single rule.

An Algorithm to Improve the Effectiveness of Apriori
6th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics, 2007Apriori is one of the most important algorithms used in rule association mining. In this paper, we first discuss the limitations of the Apriori algorithm and then propose an enhancement for improving its efficiency. The improved algorithm is based on the combination of forward scan and reverse scan of a given database.
