Integrated ARM/AQM mechanisms based on PID controllers
IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2005. ICC 2005. 2005, 2005The paper presents integrated mechanisms for differentiated service (DiffServ) architecture consisting of active rate management (ARM) at the edges of the network and two-color active queue management (AQM) controllers at the core of the network. The AQM controller is a robust linear quadratic regulator based proportional-integral-derivative controller

Adaptive AQM Routers Supporting TCP Flows
Dynamic Systems and Control, 2001Abstract This paper describes the development of an adaptive algorithm for active queue management (AQM) routers supporting a dynamically varying number of long-lived TCP flows. We use a nonlinear dynamic model of TCP behavior which was recently developed from fluid-flow and stochastic differential equation analysis.

CDM-based design and performance evaluation of a robust AQM method for dynamic TCP/AQM networks
Computer Communications, 2009A new robust AQM strategy for dynamically varying TCP/AQM networks is proposed and its performance is investigated through computer simulations in MATLAB and ns-2 environments. The developed AQM is designed based on coefficient diagram method (CDM), which is a new indirect pole placement method that considers the speed, stability and robustness of the ...

A New DiffServ Supported AQM Algorithm
2006 8th international Conference on Signal Processing, 2006This paper gives a new active queue management algorithm for differentiated service (DiffServ) network, which is based on an new adaptive random early detection (RED) algorithm called pre-estimation RED, so we name it DiffServ PERED. PERED utilizes a short term discrete-time Markov queuing model to estimate the future queue state, then self-adjusts the

Link utilization based AQM and its performance
IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005We propose a simple active queue management algorithm, LUBA (link utilization based approach), which identifies malicious flows based on instantaneous link utilization. The algorithm maintains mean arrival rate information for a small number of flows to classify malicious and non-malicious flows.

AQM Mechanism with Neuron Tuning Parameters
2020The congestion control is one of the most important questions in modern computer network performance. This article investigates the problem of adaptive neuron based choice of the Active Queue Mechanisms parameters. We evaluate the performance of the AQM mechanism in the presence of self-similar traffic based on the automatic selection of their ...

Nonlinear AQM for Multiple RED Routers
2008 Third International Conference on Convergence and Hybrid Information Technology, 2008The existing RED algorithms act on subscribers and edge routers only, and the link capacities between edge routers and connected core routers have not been considered. When core router in a two layers' network experiences congestion, the connected edge routers have no ability to response their access data rates.

TCP-AQM Interaction: Periodic Optimization via Linear Programming
2006We investigate the interaction between Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and an Active Queue Management (AQM) router, that are designed to control congestion in the Internet. TCP controls the sending rate with which the data is injected into the network and AQM generates control signals based on the congestion level.
