Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

Ecotoxicity of chlorpyrifos to aquatic organisms: A review
Pesticides play an important role in promoting agricultural development, while their unreasonable use has led to environmental problems. Chlorpyrifos (CPF), a typical organophosphate pesticide, is used globally as an insecticide in agriculture. The extensive application of CPF has resulted in water contamination, and CPF has been detected in rivers ...

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.

Molecular, Enzymatic, and Cellular Characterization of Soluble Adenylyl Cyclase From Aquatic Animals. [PDF]
The enzyme soluble adenylyl cyclase (sAC) is the most recently identified source of the messenger molecule cyclic adenosine monophosphate. sAC is evolutionarily conserved from cyanobacteria to human, is directly stimulated by [Formula: see text] ions ...

ZOONOSIS OF AQUATICAL ORGANISMS
Aquatic organisms play a very important role in human nutrition. They also pose a real threat for human health by causing various diseases. Parasites, bacteria and viruses may either directly or indirectly be carried from aquatic organisms to humans.

Photographing Aquatic Organisms
PHOTOGRAPHY OF AQUATIC organisms poses special problems-and rewards-to the biologist. Details of their structure, behavior and environment can be documented clearly. Yet water is a demanding medium to penetrate and to retain in place, and the interface between water and air refracts and reflects light, causing special problems to the photographer.

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

Identification and functional analysis of YB-1 and YB-2 from Amur minnow (Phoxinus lagowskii)
In vertebrates, Y-box proteins play a pivotal role in stress regulation. In this study, we cloned two Y-box genes (YB-1 and YB-2) from the cold-water fish, Amur minnow (Phoxinus lagowskii). Our findings showed that the full-length AmYB-1 and AmYB-2 genes
