Chronic pseudophakic aqueous misdirection

open access: yesAsian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
A 61 year old female with no prior ocular history developed progressive anterior chamber shallowing following uncomplicated phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. This shallowing rapidly accelerated after Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy, and led to a significant myopic shift.

Aqueous Misdirection Glaucoma Following Uneventful Cataract Surgery

open access: yesJOURNAL OF THE BAHRAIN MEDICAL SOCIETY, 2022
Aqueous misdirection glaucoma is a rare post ophthalmic surgery complication. It is mostly encountered after a glaucoma filtration surgery, and less commonly comes after cataract extraction surgery. The clinical scenario usually appears immediately after the procedure, in which the intraocular pressure increases, the anterior chamber becomes flat or ...

Management of Pseudophakic Malignant Glaucoma Using Modified Nd:YAG Laser Treatment Methodology Through Surgical Preset Iridectomy

open access: yesOphthalmology and Therapy, 2023
Introduction The use of the neodymium:yttrium–aluminum-garnet (Nd:YAG) laser to treat malignant glaucoma (MG) has been described in the literature since the 1980s.

Canaloplasty in the Treatment of Open-Angle Glaucoma: A Review of Patient Selection and Outcomes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Canaloplasty is a relatively new non-penetrating surgery for the reduction of intraocular pressure in patients affected by glaucoma. The technique uses a microcatheter to perform a 360 º cannulation of Schlemm's canal and leaves in place a tension suture

Recurrence of aqueous misdirection following pars plana vitrectomy in pseudophakic eyes. [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Rep, 2015
We present a retrospective interventional case series of four patients with pseudophakic eye who developed recurrent aqueous misdirection following pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for malignant glaucoma (MG). The patients were treated with neodymium: YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) laser hyaloidotomy/membranotomy through the patent peripheral iridectomy. The

Topical Omidenepag Isopropyl Lowers Intraocular Pressure in Normal and Glaucomatous Cats: A Pilot Study. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Ophthalmol
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate the effects of topical prostaglandin E2 receptor 2 (EP2) agonist, omidenepag isopropyl (OMDI), on intraocular pressure (IOP) and pupil diameter (PD) in normal cats and cats with feline congenital glaucoma (FCG). Animals Studied Ten FCG cats and 8 normal cats.

Electron tomography of late stages of FcRn-mediated antibody transcytosis in neonatal rat small intestine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) transports maternal immunoglobulin (IgG) across epithelia to confer passive immunity to mammalian young. In newborn rodents, FcRn transcytoses IgG from ingested milk across the intestinal epithelium for release into the ...

Incidence and Risk Factors for Berger's Space Development after Uneventful Cataract Surgery : Evidence from Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Background: This study investigates the incidence and risk factors for the development of Berger's space (BS) after uneventful phacoemulsification based on swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT).

Aqueous misdirection syndrome in persistent fetal vasculature (PFV)

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Oftalmologia, 2017
We report a case of a 5-year-old girl with persistent fetal vasculature who presented with unilateral acute angle closure caused by aqueous misdirection syndrome that was apparently associated with regression of cycloplegia. Initial treatment with topical steroids, anti-glaucomatous drops, and atropine showed insufficient control of the intraocular ...

Management of angle-closure glaucoma with X-linked retinoschisis: a case report

open access: yesBMC Ophthalmology, 2023
Background X-linked retinoschisis (XLRS), due to mutations in the RS1 gene, is a common genetically determined form of macular degeneration. This report describes an unusual case of angle-closure glaucoma (ACG) with XLRS and discusses the treatment. Case
