Determination of heparin in aqueous solutions
Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, 1998To develop a volumetric method for assaying heparin in aqueous media.Heparin is precipitated out with an aqueous solution of an organic amine by titration and the end-point is based on the measurement of the medium dielectric permittivity. We studied the titration of a 500 IU/ml heparin solution with a 0.08 M cetylpyridinium chloride solution at pH 6.8.

Inhibitors for aqueous solutions [PDF]
Inhibiting acids Hydrochloric acid solution POLYRAD 0515A and 1110A manufactured by Hercules Powder Co. Ltd. have received wide acceptance as corrosion inhibitors for use in hydrochloric acid solution. This acid, in common with other industrial acids, will corrode iron and steel vessels during processing unless they are protected by the presence of a ...

Polymerization in Aqueous Solution
1989The unique position that water occupies, both in terms of physical properties and biological significance, has been recognized for many years and has been widely discussed.1–4 The consequences of this position are reflected not only in the inherent behaviour of water as a polymerization solvent, but also in the fact that the interactions of the ...

Thermodynamic properties of water and aqueous solutions are reviewed, emphasizing experimental evidence of long range molecular interactions in aqueous systems. Changes in the structure of water, introduced by solute ions or molecules, are discussed and their importance in biological systems is stressed.

Water is the liquid phase used in all industrial mineral processing separations of solids whether by wet-gravity or wet-magnetic techniques, filtration, flotation, flocculation, or spherical agglomeration. The properties of water are, therefore, of great importance to all these processes.
