Tidal response of groundwater in a leaky aquifer: application to Oklahoma [PDF]
Quantitative interpretation of the tidal response of water levels measured in wells has long been made either with a model for perfectly confined aquifers or with a model for purely unconfined aquifers. However, many aquifers may be neither totally confined nor purely unconfined at the frequencies of tidal loading but behave somewhere between the two ...

Well design as a factor contributing to loss of water from the Floridan Aquifer, eastern Clay County, Florida [PDF]
A number of wells penetrating the Floridan aquifer in eastern Clay County were found to be losing water to permeable zones above this aquifer. A differential in artesian pressure was observed in closely spaced wells of similar depth.

Saturated-Unsaturated flow in a Compressible Leaky-unconfined Aquifer [PDF]
An analytical solution is developed for three-dimensional flow towards a partially penetrating large-diameter well in an unconfined aquifer bounded below by an aquitard of finite or semi-infinite extent. The analytical solution is derived using Laplace and Hankel transforms, then inverted numerically.

Impact of pressure dissipation on fluid injection into layered aquifers [PDF]
Carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and subsurface storage is one method for reducing anthropogenic CO2 emissions to mitigate climate change. It is well known that large-scale fluid injection into the subsurface leads to a buildup in pressure that gradually spreads and dissipates through lateral and vertical migration of water.

Fracture Propagation Driven by Fluid Outflow from a Low-permeability Aquifer [PDF]
Deep saline aquifers are promising geological reservoirs for CO2 sequestration if they do not leak. The absence of leakage is provided by the caprock integrity. However, CO2 injection operations may change the geomechanical stresses and cause fracturing of the caprock.

Aquifer system and groundwater potency in coastal area of Kretek, Bantul Regency, Indonesia [PDF]
The existence of groundwater in coastal areas really needs attention because of its vulnerability to sea water intrusion. Utilization and good management are needed to maintain its sustainability.

Perceptions of Irrigation Water Management Practices in the Mississippi Delta
The Mississippi River Valley Alluvial Aquifer (MRVAA) is being depleted, and practices that improve water stewardship have been developed to reduce drawdown. This study assesses how Mississippi Delta producers changed their perceptions of these practices
