Aquifer Parameter Estimation Using Kalman Filters
Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1981An iterated extended Kalman filter (IEKF) has been used for the estimation of aquifer parameters in the presence of uncertainties in the system and noise in the measurements. The technique is sequential and each additional observation reduces the error covariance of the parameter estimates.

Aquifer Parameters in Confined Porous Media
Impacts of Global Climate Change, 2005This paper is part of a series of topics that will be included in a manual currently compiled by Task Committee on Aquifer Parameters in Porous and Fractured Media. The purpose of the manual is to present the state-of-the-art methods available to evaluate aquifer parameters under various flow conditions in porous and fractured media.

Theis Solution Under Aquifer Parameter Uncertainty
Groundwater, 1995Abstract The Theis solution is one of the most widely used ground‐water flow solutions for the prediction of drawdown caused by a pumping well in a confined compressible aquifer. This paper extends the classical solution with the consideration of information uncertainty of aquifer parameters.

Aquifer parameter prediction in leaky aquifers
Journal of Hydrology, 1985Abstract The finite element—least-squares optimization algorithm is utilized to identify the hydrogeologic field parameters of a multi-layer aquifer system. The technique developed relies on accurate steady state piezometric head data for each aquifer in the multi-layered system.

Aquifer Parameter Identification
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1975This paper presents an analysis of the inverse problem of parameter (or parameters) identification in unsteady ground-water flow. The response of the system is governed by a typical nonlinear second-order partial differential equation for which there exists no closed-form solution. Identification is an inverse process whereby the parameters embedded in

Graphical Determination of Confined Aquifer Parameters
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1966Dimensional analysis is used to obtain a relationship between the parameters of a homogeneous, isotropic confined aquifer. A dimensionless form of the fundamental differential equation governing the transient flow of groundwater toward a fully penetrating well in an infinite confined aquifer is solved analytically and numerically.

Identification of parameters in semiconfined aquifers
Journal of Hydrology, 1987Abstract A method is presented for identification of parameters from pumping tests, in semiconfined aquifers with storage release from the aquitard. Four parameters are to be evaluated, namely: the transmissivity of the aquifer; the storage coefficient of the aquifer; the leakage coefficient of the aquitard; and the storage coefficient of the ...

IDENTIFICATION OF PARAMETERS IN INHOMOGENEOUS AQUIFER
Doboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1987In this paper, the method to identify the values of transmissivity and storage coefficient and those distribution in inhomogeneous aquifer is investigated in inverse problem. Especially, the importance of the selecting technique of observed head is emphasized, and the reasonable phases for observing is clearly shown with the sensitivity matrix.

Pumping Tests and Aquifer Parameters
2013Aquifer parameters which determine the characteristics of an aquifer are storage co-efficient (s), coefficient of transmissibility (T) and hydraulic conductivity or co-efficient of permeability (K). Storage co-efficient of an aquifer is the volume of water discharges from a unit prisom i.e.

Aquifer Boundaries and Parameter Identification Simplified
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2002A simple method is proposed for simultaneous and explicit identification of confined aquifer parameters and boundaries from drawdowns measured at an observation well during a constant rate pumping test. The method requires the determination of peaks of unimodal curves.
