Abstract BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a relapsing inflammatory bowel disease characterised by oxidative stress, inflammation and regulated cell death of the colonic mucosa. Because live probiotics may cause bacteraemia and sepsis in immunocompromised hosts, non‐viable (paraprobiotic) alternatives have attracted interest.

Virtual Reality‐Based Vestibular Rehabilitation for Vestibular Migraine: A Randomized Trial

In this single‐blind randomized controlled trial, 40 patients with definite vestibular migraine were randomized 1:1 to home‐based vestibular rehabilitation alone (HB‐VestRehab, n = 20) or the same program plus eight clinic‐based virtual reality sessions (VR‐VestRehab, n = 20).

Intrinsically Design‐Rule‐Compliant Nanophotonic Inverse Design via Learned Generative Manifolds

A generative reparameterization framework for nanophotonic inverse design is introduced, restricting optimization to a learned manifold of design‐rule‐compliant geometries. Unlike conventional penalty‐based approaches, fabrication constraints are encoded intrinsically within the design representation.

1 W Single‐Mode Large‐Area Edge‐Emitting Laser via Non‐Hermitian Spatial Mode Filtering

We demonstrate a non‐Hermitian spatial mode filtering approach for achieving high‐power single‐mode operation in large‐area edge‐emitting laser diodes. By symmetrically coupling passive filter arrays to the main lasing waveguide, higher‐order transverse modes are effectively suppressed while preserving the fundamental mode.
