Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Analysis of Senescence-Related Genes Expressions Using Gus and Gfp Reporter Genes in Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. Leaves

open access: yesTrakya University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2017
The regulation and functional steps of leaf senescence is a complex phenomenon involving the activation of many biochemical and regulatory pathways. As a result of previous studies, some genes related to senescence (SAGs = Senescence Associated Genes ...

Assessing the contribution of alternative splicing to proteome diversity in Arabidopsis thaliana using proteomics data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background Large-scale analyses of genomics and transcriptomics data have revealed that alternative splicing (AS) substantially increases the complexity of the transcriptome in higher eukaryotes.

Natural Variation of COLD and CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 Coordinately Fine‐Tunes Cold Tolerance and Tea Quality in Tea Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

Cell Segmentation Beyond 2D—A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Cell segmentation underpins many biological image analysis tasks, yet most deep learning methods remain limited to 2D despite the inherently 3D nature of cellular processes. This review surveys segmentation approaches beyond 2D, comparing 2.5D and fully 3D methods, analyzing 31 models and 32 volumetric datasets, and introducing a unified reference ...

Efficient mechanism of DNA repair stabilizes genome of Arabidopsis thaliana from the Chernobyl zone

open access: yesДоповiдi Нацiональної академiї наук України
Tolerance to radiomimetics and heavy metals has been investigated in Arabidopsis thaliana plants collected in the Chernobyl zone. Decrease of root growth and DNA damage level of a single cell have been evaluated. Tolerance of A.

Interactions between maternal provisioning and natural selection on seed mass fluctuate across heat waves

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Changing climates are leading to more frequent and severe heat waves, potentially threatening plant populations. Both acclimation to stress and selection for heat‐escape or heat‐resistance phenotypes occur during heat waves. However, plastic responses and selection do not necessarily interact cohesively—even producing trait responses ...

Arabidopsis thaliana Nudix hydrolase AtNUDT7 forms complexes with the regulatory RACK1A protein and Ggamma subunits of the signal transducing heterotrimeric G protein. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Arabidopsis thaliana AtNUDT7 Nudix pyrophosphatase hydrolyzes NADH and ADP-ribose in vitro and is an important factor in the cellular response to diverse biotic and abiotic stresses.

Mehrfarbige und lichtintensitätsabgeschwächte Reaktionen von Proteinhydrogelen durch Photoregulierte Vernetzungsdynamik

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
