ZnO nanocrystallites obtained by oxidation of zinc arachidate – arachidic acid composite multilayers
physica status solidi (a), 2007AbstractZnO nanocrystallites were prepared by the oxidation of Zinc Arachidate–Arachidic Acid (ZnA–AA) composite multilayers grown on quartz and freshly cleaved mica substrates. Control of zinc content in the multilayers was achieved by the manipulation of the subphase pH and the variation in the number of monolayers transferred.

Stability of arachidic acid sols
Transactions of the Faraday Society, 1962The flocculation of arachidic acid sols by the cations, Th, La, Cu, Ba, and Ca was investigated. Measurements of the rate of flocculation were used to evaluate the stability ratio. The electrophoretic properties of the sols were investigated in the presence of the same cations.

The microscopic structure of skeletonized films of cadmium arachidate has been studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM)—skeletonization is the removal of free acid from a mixed Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films and the AFM methods used are detailed, AFM images and results from a two‐dimensional fast Fourier transform analysis are discussed, and factors ...

Thin Solid Films, 1992
Bilayers of mixed arachidic acid and barium arachidate have been analyzed by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). The striking features of the SIMS spectra were mainly the deprotonated molecule (M H)− of arachidic acid, the protonated molecule (M + H)+ and the cationized ion (M H + Ba)+.

Langmuir-Blodgett deposition of yttrium arachidate
Thin Solid Films, 1993Abstract Langmuir-Blodgett films consisting of many monolayers of yttrium arachidate were deposited on Si(100) from a subphase concentration of 10 -5 M YCl 3 over a pH range of 4.0–6.9. The depositions were uniform with normal Y-type stacking and did not show detrimental rigidity effects normally associated with trivalent ions.
