Mevalonate-metabolizing enzymes in Arachis hypogaea
Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1989The activities of the mevalonate metabolizing enzymes-HMG-CoA reductase, mevalonate kinase, mevalonate phosphokinase and mevalonate pyrophosphate decarboxylase -were assayed with the respective substrates in green seedlings of Arachis hypogaea. MVAPP decarboxylase is the rate-limiting step among these enzymes and is inhibited by phenolic acids.

Transgenic Peanut (Arachis hypogaea)
2000The cultivated peanut, also known as groundnut, (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oilseed crop widely grown in the tropical, subtropical, and warmer temperate areas of the world. Peanuts are mainly utilized for human consumption and livestock feed, but they also provide important raw materials for edible oil, confectionery products, and high ...

Allantoinases of nodulated Arachis hypogaea
Phytochemistry, 1988Abstract Nodulated Arachis hypogaea plants contain an allantoinase in the nodules that is different from the host tissue enzyme. The root and nodule allantoinases have been purified 10 and 15 fold respectively. They exhibited K m values of 25 (root) and 8.7 mM (nodule) for allantoin.

MICROSPOROGENESIS IN PEANUT (ARACHIS HYPOGAEA)
American Journal of Botany, 1990The stage of pollen development at the time of anther culture is an important factor in the production of haploids. The objectives of the current study were to develop a staining procedure for peanut (Arachis hypogaea L., ssp. hypogaea) microspores, to describe and document the stages of microsporogenesis in peanut, and to confirm a previous report ...

ARACHIS HYPOGAEA. REPRODUCTIVE EFFICIENCY
American Journal of Botany, 1954The seasonal distribution of flower production and its relation to fruiting were investigated in the Virginia variety of the cultivated peanut, Arachis hypogaea. Flowering followed a normal frequency distribution with its mode in the third month of the growing season.

Wuchsformen bei Arachis hypogaea L.
Flora, 1996Abstract The growth forms of Arachis hypogaea L. subsp. hypogaea var. hypogaea cv. ‘Florman INTA’ and A. hypogaea L. subsp. fastigiata W aldron var. fastigiata cv. ‘Colorado irradiado INTA’ were studied. Growth forms of plants taken in the same type of soil structure which had been treated with different soil management practices were ...

ARACHIS HYPOGAEA. SEEDLING GROWTH RATE
American Journal of Botany, 1950Virginia bunch peanut seedlings, germinated and grown under favorable conditions, showed no growth lag up to the appearance of flowers. Appearance of expanded leaves, stem length, root length and dry weights of roots and shoots, shown as functions of age, describe curves which represent a period of rapid and relatively uniform growth. These curves show

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Breeding
2019Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.), a vital source of proteins and nutrient-rich fodder for livestock, is considered globally as a major oilseed crop. Being a segmental allopolyploid with AABB genome conformation, the cultivated peanut is considered to have evolved through single interspecific hybridization amid two diploid species.

Arachis hypogea (peanut, groundnut), an annual oil seed belonging to the Leguminosae family and the Papillionacea subfamily, is a legume native to South America but now grown in diverse environments in six continents between latitudes 40 degrees N and 40 degrees S. Arachis hypogea can grow in a wide range of climatic conditions.
