Vertical Protection Level Optimization and Availability Analysis for Advanced RAIM

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
With the introduction of global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) in aviation, there has been increased dependency on GNSS position. Multi-constellation GNSS services and equipment will remain a solution for many aircraft positions in safety.

GNSS spoofing detection through spatial processing

open access: yesNAVIGATION, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 243-258, Summer 2021., 2021
Abstract In this paper, we present an algorithmic framework for signal‐geometry‐based approaches of GNSS spoofing detection. We formulate a simple vs. simple hypothesis test independent of nuisance parameters that results in significantly reduced missed detection probability compared to prior approaches.

A review of system integration and current integrity monitoring methods for positioning in intelligent transport systems

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 43-60, January 2021., 2021
Abstract Applications of intelligent transportation systems are continuously increasing. Since positioning is a key component in these systems, it is essential to ensure its reliability and robustness, and monitor its integrity so that the required levels of positioning accuracy, integrity, continuity and availability can be maintained.

A Multipath Processing Technology Based on Multiparameter‐Combined Observation in GNSS

open access: yesMobile Information Systems, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
In the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), the multipath error affected by many aspects is the main error source that affects satellite navigation, and it is difficult to establish a much more accurate model to analyze it. Based on the ground multipath reflection model, it firstly deeply studies the influence of GNSS satellite orbit parameters ...

Impact of sample correlation on SISRE overbound for ARAIM [PDF]

open access: yesNAVIGATION, 2018
This paper analyzes the effect of error correlation on the SISRE bounding for GPS and Galileo satellites. For a given period of data collection, it computes the effective number of independent samples contained in a dataset applying an estimation variance analyses.

Development of the dual‐frequency dual‐constellation airborne multipath models

open access: yesNAVIGATION, Volume 67, Issue 1, Page 61-81, Spring 2020., 2020
Abstract This paper presents a methodology to build multipath models for aviation use of new Global Positioning System (GPS) and Galileo signals. The estimation of airframe multipath errors makes use of carrier phase measurements; thus, it is affected by the integer ambiguities. A new method for removing the ambiguities from the multipath estimation is

A Modified Range Consensus Algorithm Based on GA for Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
With the considerable increase of visible satellites for positioning, the fault detection and identification performance of Range Consensus (RANCO) algorithm for Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) will significantly be improved. However, the calculation amount of RANCO algorithm will exponentially increase for the sharp addition of visible

Robust Modeling of GNSS Orbit and Clock Error Dynamics

open access: yesNavigation, 2022
In this paper, we develop new stochastic orbit and clock error models for positioning, fault detection, and integrity monitoring over time. GPS and Galileo orbit and clock data are evaluated and ranging errors are analyzed and modeled over time.
