Bright structural colorful aramid fabrics with outstanding light fastness

AIChE Journal, 2023
AbstractThe problems of difficult dyeing, poor dyeing fastness, and dyeing pollution of aramid are always great obstacles in the practical application. In theory, constructing particular nanostructures instead of dyes on aramids to achieve bright structural colors will be an effective strategy.

Superior mechanical and ballistic performance of carbon nanotube‐reinforced phenolic/aramid fabric composites via a two‐roll pressing process

Polymer Composites
In this study, aramid fiber (AF)/phenolic resin prepreg was fabricated by impregnating low content carbon nanotube (CNT)‐reinforced phenolic resin with aramid fabric through a two‐roll pressing process.

Dissipation of energy by bulletproof aramid fabric

Journal of Materials Science, 1997
The bullet resistance of laminates comprised of several layers of aramid Armos fabric has been studied. The high bullet resistance of the fabric is caused by the pulling-out of yarns impacted by the bullet. The pull-out zone is cross-shaped, the centre being the impact point.

Screen printed silver patterns on functionalised aramid fabric

Fibers and Polymers, 2017
In this work, a simple and low cost method based on screen printing is presented to synthesize a conductive silver pattern on aramid fabric. The aramid fiber was treated with (3-mercaptopropyl)-trimethoxysilane to introduce a tail mercapto group promoting the ordered binding of silver nanoparticles.

Near room temperature dyeing of m‐aramid fabrics

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2019
ABSTRACTDue to their high crystallinity and inertness, the coloration of meta‐aramid fiber has been widely confirmed to be difficult. Though substantial improvements have been achieved, the dyeing of this fiber still requires high temperature and long duration for good color strength and shade.

(Invited) Fabrication of Aramid Paper Electrodes for Electrochemical Applications

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2020
In recent years, flexible-electronics has become an emerging field of R&D. While plastics are typical substrates to print the circuitries, paper is an interesting alternative. Recently, paper-based touch sensor with printed silver nanoparticle has been demonstrated to work even after repeated bending and wrapping tests [1].
