Synthesis of new aramid fiber [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer Science Series A, 2010
A new aramid fiber designed for the fabrication of heat-and-fire-resistant textile products is synthesized. The chemical structure of the initial polymer is a copolymer based on three aromatic diamines—5(6)-amino-2-(p-aminophenyl)benzimidazole, m-phenylenediamine, and p-phenylenediamine—and terephthaloyl chloride.

Ozone Effect On the Properties of Aramid Fabric

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal, 2017
The limitation of aramid fiber is its surface property, which results in its very poor interfacial adhesion to most of commercial resins. In order to improve the surface property of the aramid fiber, ozone treatment was carried out in this work.

Improvement of the Mechanical Properties by Surface Modification of ZnCl2 and Polydopamine in Aramid Fiber Composites

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Although aramid fiber has the advantage of excellent chemical and mechanical properties, the performance of the composites may be reduced due to the low interfacial adhesion between the fabric and the matrix.

Effect of stitch and biaxial yarn types on the impact properties of biaxial weft knitted textile composites

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2013
Within the scope of experiments, the effects of stitch yarn type, such as aramid, glass, and nylon, and biaxial, warp, and weft yarn type, such as aramid and glass, on biaxial weft knitted (BWK) composites were investigated.

Continuous Fiber-Reinforced Material Extrusion with Hybrid Composites of Carbon and Aramid Fibers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
An existing challenge in the use of continuous fiber reinforcements in additively manufactured parts is the limited availability of suitable fiber materials. This leads to a reduced adaptability of the mechanical properties to the load case.

Manufacturing and properties of aramid-reinforced composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The functional properties of the aramid-reinforced polymer composites depend primarily on the properties of the aramid reinforcing fibers, since the fraction of the fiber constituent in FRP is quite high, usually well above 30% by volume.

Strength and Durability Study of Concrete Structures Using Aramid-Fiber-Reinforced Polymer

open access: yesFibers, 2019
Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) is an important material used for strengthening and retrofitting of reinforced concrete structures. Commonly used fibers are glass, carbon, and aramid fibers.
