Las arañas poseen glándulas de veneno, excepto la familia Uloboridae. El veneno es usado para paralizar y capturar a sus presas y como modo de defensa. En la mayoría de los casos el veneno inyectado con la picadura en el ser humano, produce solamente una reacción local media que no requiere atención médica.
