Chemical composition of bunya nuts (Araucaria bidwillii) compared to Araucaria angustifolia and Araucaria araucana species

Food Research International, 2023
Three of nineteen Araucaria tree species from around the world produce large edible seeds. While composition is established for edible pinhão and piñones nuts from Brazil and Chile, respectively, the first detailed characterisation for the composition of edible Araucaria bidwillii (bunya nut) from Australia is provided. Almost half of the kernel weight

Araucaria Trees: Construction and Grafting Theorems

Fundamenta Informaticae, 2013
Araucarias have been introduced by Schott and Spehner as trees which appear in the minimal automaton of the shuffle of words. We give here a new definition of araucarias which is more constructive and we prove that our definition of araucarias is equivalent to the original one. From the new definition we derive an optimal algorithm for the construction

Erratum for "Shuffle of Words and Araucaria Trees"

Fundamenta Informaticae, 2007
The starting definitions of araucarias given in [1] contain some mistakes. We give here new definitions which replace Definitions 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4, Theorem 2.1 and Corollary 2.1. The rest of the paper is based on the characterization of araucarias given in Theorem 1.1 and remains true with these corrections.

SEEDS AND EMBRYOS OF ARAUCARIA MIRABILIS

American Journal of Botany, 1975
Seeds and embryos contained within the silicified ovuliferous cone Araucaria mirabilis from the Cerro Cuadrado petrified forest are described. One wingless seed, 0.8–1.3 cm in length and 0.2–0.6 cm in width, is embedded in each ovuliferous scale. Seeds show a three‐layered integument and a prominent wavy nucellus which is attached basally to the ...

Araucaria bidwilli GUM

Carbohydrate Research, 1965
Abstract The polysaccharide exudate from the gymnosperm, Araucaria bidwilli, contains residues of d -galactose, l -arabinose, l -rhamnose, and d -glucuronic acid (in part as the 4-methyl ether). Graded hydrolysis affords 6-O-(β- d -glucopyranosyluronic acid)- d -galactose and 6-O-(4-O-methyl-β- d -glucopyranosyluronic acid)- d -galactose.
