Norlignan from the knot resin of Araucaria angustifolia
Phytochemistry, 1992Abstract A new norlignan, 2,3-bis-( p -hydroxyphenyl)-2-cyclopentene-1-one, was isolated from the knot resin powder of Araucaria angustifolia . The structure was elucidated by spectroscopic chemical analyses. In addition 4,4′- dihydroxychalcone, cryptoresinol (norlignan), four known lignans and one known norlignan, were isolated for the first time ...

Biflavonoids from Araucaria angustifolia protect against DNA UV-induced damage
Phytochemistry, 2009Ultraviolet radiation is one of the most deleterious forms of radiation to terrestrial organisms and is involved in formation of mutagenic pyrimidine dimers and oxidized nucleotides. The biflavonoid fraction (BFF), extracted from needles of Araucaria angustifolia was capable of protecting calf thymus DNA from damage induced by UV radiation.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi associated with Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Ktze
Mycorrhiza, 2003Specimens of Araucaria angustifolia from a native forest reserve and a reforested area in the State Park of Campos do Jordão were studied to determine the number and diversity of spore populations of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and root colonization.

Somatic Embryogenesis in Araucaria angustifolia (Bert) O. Ktze
2000Brazilian pine tree (Araucaria angustifolia), the only native conifer of economic importance in Brazil (Figure 1A), representing the most exploited timber source up to the 70’s (Mattos, 1994; Shimizu and Oliveira, 1981). This tree can provide seed, wood, fiber and resin.
